On Sept. 17, 2011, members of Occupy Wall Street (OWS) started camping out in Zuccotti Park in Manhattan’s financial district, and since then the movement has spread to 1,500 cities. One of its most enduring icons has been the Guy Fawkes mask, popularized by the graphic novel and film V for Vendetta and a constant presence at protests worldwide.

Silver Lining

by Ramzy Baroud, source

Recent demonstrations in protest of the rising cost of living have swept across the West Bank. While they are not indicative of a Palestinian version of the ‘Arab Spring’, they are still an important first step.

A reasonable demand, however, cannot possibly be for Ramallah-based Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas to sack the government of Salam Fayyad. Neither has much sway over Palestinian economy, let alone political will.

Abbas enjoys Israeli and Western backing because of his ability to manage – if not sustain – a factional split between his party, Fatah, and Hamas, which controls Gaza. He remains faithful to security coordination between his authority and Israel, and continues to crack down on his opponents with an iron fist. He is also desperately clinging to a loyalty to Washington policy – despite the fact that the latter’s prestige and influence is quickly diminishing in the…

Underground Lightning May Cause Earthquake and Volcanic Events by Terrence Aym.
Created on: March 22, 2011   Last Updated: April 12, 2011

Emerging science of the titanic forces that trigger earthquakes and volcanoes suggests that underground lightning may play a significant role.
Earth is like a gigantic capacitor. The planet can be charged and discharged by rotating external electric fields that are in a state of flux.
The phenomenon of subterranean lightning traveling through huge deposits of quartz along earthquake fault lines may be at least part of the geology that triggers higher magnitude quakes and violent volcanic eruptions…LINK

Liberal hypocrisy is sometimes so great, we really need a new word to describe it. Maybe “Obamacrite.” …

With the Islamic violence spreading globally this past week, the Obama Administration has hammered on one point it desperately wants everyone to believe, that it’s all caused by a cheap, homemade anti-Islamic video.

That’s a transparent ruse, but let’s play along for a moment.

The killings, rampages, bombings and violence are NOT the fault of the psychotic Muslims running through the world’s streets with guns and bombs, and they certainly are NOT the fault of the moronic, slipshod management of foreign affairs by the Obama Administration that ignored prior warnings and even refused to take common sense security measures (like loading Marines’ guns with ammo).

All of the violence, including the reported raping and killing of our ambassador, is actually caused by a little, green-screen video that was…

The Syrian foreign ministry says Turkey has opened its borders and airports for Syria-bound terrorists, calling it a flagrant violation of the international law.

The ministry made the remarks on Sunday in two letters addressed to the UN Security Council and UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, Syrian news agency Sana reported.

The ministry said Syria’s northern neighbor allowed “thousands of al-Qaeda, Takfiri, and Wahhabi terrorists” to cross the border in order to “kill innocent Syrians, blow up their properties, and spread chaos and destruction.”

Turkey is home to the headquarters of the self-proclaimed Free Syrian Army and hosts many meetings of foreign-backed insurgent groups fighting against Damascus.

Anti-Japanese protests have swept China, as the volatile dispute over who owns a series of islands escalates. The fallout over the archipelago dispute has been widening between Tokyo and Beijing since Japan decided to bypass China and buy the territories from private investors. This comes as Washington and Tokyo agreed to put a second anti-missile defence radar in Japan, claiming it’ll be focused on deterring North Korean aggression. But James Corbett, editor of the Corbett Report website who lives in Japan thinks the system will be deployed for all the wrong reasons.

Wake up call for US ELITES after ATTACKS on Embassy in ARAB nations (US is ANTI-ARAB and ISLAMIC)

WASHINGTON – Has the Arab Winter arrived?

It’s a question analysts in Washington are asking as angry demonstrations spread across North Africa and the Middle East to protest a video ridiculing the Islamic prophet Muhammad.

Those skeptical of promoting democracy in Muslim countries and those who fear a rapid decline in American influence may see their suspicions validated. Even among those who’ve championed the end of Middle Eastern autocracies, the level of anti-American rage wrought by the film has been ominous.

U.S. embassies and consulates have been breached this week in Egypt, Libya, Yemen and Tunisia — the same four countries to rid themselves of decades-long dictatorships in what became known as the Arab Spring of revolutions last year. In Libya, the only place the…

Repeated Lies Call for Repeated Truth Regarding Iran.

By Tony Cartalucci, Land Destroyer

September 17, 2012 – As Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu calls “for the US to establish a firm “red line” that Iran’s nuclear program can’t cross without risking a military response,” and the West is marched ever closer to war with the Islamic Republic based on tired and repeated lies, three important points must be kept in mind.

Image: Israeli Prime Minister has been granted air-time to dictate US foreign policy to American viewers in the latest indication that interests other than those of the American people drive American destiny. Make no mistake however, Netanyahu is not in America to represent the Israeli people, but rather the same corporate-financier interests of Wall Street and London that created and sustain him politically.

1. The US and Israel admit in their own policy papers that Iran threatens Western…

People often ask me why the West doesn’t attempt a Libya-style intervention in Syria. After all, things are going so well in Libya. Oil production is up. But oil production is merely a mirage, as is security in Libya, which was doomed from the day one PG (post-Gaddafi) because of the way it was “liberated”.

On Wednesday, US envoy to Libya Christopher Stevens was killed along with three other American diplomats in a rocket attack on the US consulate in Benghazi.

What about the oil, that global elixir? Well, the violence will not bode well for Libya’s production ambitions, coming at a time when the country looked prepared for a boost in output and was banking on this for economic growth.

Security was already dubious at best, and now international oil companies will be more reluctant than ever. Those that are already there—Germany’s Wintershall AG…

The mass media are toeing the official warmonger line on Syria and Daraya, citing “as yet unconfirmed activist reports” (fake tweets?) blaming “Assad’s forces.” Yet Syrian TV has broadcast eyewitness reports of the massacre perpetrated by the FSA (so-called “Free Syria Army”) before the Army arrived. Armed gangs roamed the streets, sniping and trying to get into homes. Multiple witnesses testified they did not dare to leave their homes until the Army arrived. One witness tells how civilians were rounded up and shot.

When the Army arrives, the terrorists are driven off, but not before taking a video of their own dead and calling it a ‘civilian massacre.’

The whole operation was evidently coordinated and tailor-made for the MEDIA — the warmongers of yellow journalism. The time has come to rename the MSM, or Mainstream Media, as the MMM — the Mass Murdering Media. Its purpose, to get NATO members…

Anti-Japanese sentiment is no stranger to Chinese public opinion, where the horrors of World War II still fan nationalist flames. Tensions over a tiny archipelago claimed by Japan — the Chinese refer to the spits of land as the Diaoyu Islands, the Japanese as the Senkaku Islands — have heightened in recent months, prompting Japanese businesses to shutter in China and sparking mass protests in a number of Chinese cities. U.S. officials have warned of the threat of armed conflict between the two Asian powers. The following are Hipstamatic images shot by one photographer at a demonstration near the Japanese embassy in Beijing.

The Extinction Protocol

September 18, 2012INDONESIATwo of Indonesia’s most active volcanoes erupted on Saturday, prompting the government to issue warnings to populations living near the affected mountains. The National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) said on Sunday that new eruption started at Lokon in North Sulawesi and Gamalama at Ternate in North Maluku. Lokon generated a 1,500-meter high ash plume and violent strombolian (low-level) activity with some lava flow, while Gamalama produced a shower of ashes that covered the nearby city. Sutopo Purwo Nugroho, a spokesman for BNPB, said on Sunday that Lokon, located in North Sulawesi’s Tomohon area, erupted at 7 p.m. on Saturday. The explosion from the eruption shattered windows of the command post built to monitor the activities of the volcano, he said. The agency, Sutopo said, had issued warnings to local administrations to prepare precautionary measures, and called on people to remain alert. “The residents don’t…
