Occupied Palestine | فلسطين

MEMO | Sept 25, 2012

The Palestinian Authority has warned the deadlock in peace talks with the Israelis will result in a single state governed by the system of apartheid. In a document circulated to the media on the eve of an international donors’ meeting in New York, the PA said: “Without… a just and lasting political agreement… Israelis and Palestinians will inevitably slide into one state governed by the principles of apartheid.”

The status quo, argues the PA, is not sustainable politically or economically. “The occupation of the West Bank, Gaza Strip and East Jerusalem must end for there to be any chance of a viable Palestinian state.”

The PA called on the donor states to put pressure on Israel to dismantle its military checkpoints in the West Bank and allow the development of Palestinian land, including Zone C which is under Israel’s full military and civil control.

The ‘chorus’ phenomenon is well known by scientists, which is a cluster of brief, rising-frequency tones that sound like the chorus of birds singing at sunrise. Energetic particles in the magnetosphere emit radio waves that are audible to humans. Recently launched NASA Radiation Belt Storm Probes mission’s (RBSP) instrumentation captured an instance of the event…LINK to video

According to study published in the New Scientist back in 1998, there is a direct connection between the Sun’s solar storms and human biological effects.

The conduit which facilitates the charged particles from the Sun to human disturbance — is the very same conduit which steers Earth’s weather —– the magnetic field. Animals and humans have a magnetic field which surrounds them — in the very same way the magnetic field surrounds the Earth as a protector…LINK

The people of Rableh, a village situated between the Lebanese border and the city of Qusayr, in the Province of Homs, are protesting the kidnapping

We are talking about workers and farmers, men, youth and women, who were just a few kilometres from the village, working in the fields for the apple harvest, a major source of livelihood for the local population. Abou Fadel, a Catholic and father of one of the victims, contacted by Fides news agency, said he heard gunfire and blasts, “so we went to see what was happening. We saw lots of vans and pick-ups that brought people away. In the fields there were only boxes with the apple harvest left.”

Abou Fadel reports that “this region has for months been completely under the control of armed gangs who boss around. In the past few weeks we could not take care…

How did it feel to imagine killing Arabs? “I felt happy” one girl answers.

She was one of several children who spoke about committing acts of violence in this video shot at the Israeli army museum by Israeli satirical filmmaker Itamar Rose.

But the children’s answers – in Hebrew and subtitled in English – are serious. As they climb all over tanks, sit at machine-guns positions, or explain how to use a hand-grenade, Rose asks them their views.

Without hesitation, the children express their readiness to kill. Asked what he imagined when he was sitting in a tank, one boy answers, “I picture a dead Arab.”

Of course, these children are no more ready to kill than any other children, nor can they be any more capable of understanding the import of their words, at least not yet.

The children in Rose’s film bring to mind…

The Saudi authorities arrested Monday the prominent cleric in al-Ahsa province, Sheikh Hussein Radi.

The arrest came after His Eminence called and led the peaceful march which emerged in defense of the Holy Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).

Radi, who is in his sixties, was detained after performing his night prayers in the village of al-Omran. He was led to the Hofuf police station.

In parallel, the Sheikh’s relatives expressed fear over his health condition especially that he suffers from a heart disease and is in special need for treatment as well as for timed medication.

Earlier, Radi accused the US and the Zionists of being fully responsible for producing and funding the anti-Islam film.

A dystopian science fiction plot has indeed entered our reality whereby machines have not only supplanted humans on the battlefield and in the workforce, but they can now work together and make decisions on their own.

Autonomous machine warfare is here. And similar to all military experimentation, the technology has a coincidental way of trickling down to be experienced by everyday citizens and consumers, such as augmented reality applications. The foundation for drone bombings abroad is the very same that is ready to escalate across the Western world. Fleets of weaponized surveillance drones with the ability to communicate amongst themselves and wage war independently is part of a project called MUSIC. It integrates unmanned and manned aircraft in combat, and has been displayed as a showcase of aircraft interoperability.

These aircraft also possess the ability to exchange and use the information as…

A report prepared and published by the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) accused the state of Israel of failing to prosecute Israeli soldiers and settlers who commit crimes against the Palestinian people in the occupied territories, the Arabs48 News Website reported.

The report said that there is a serious increase in attacks carried out by settlers and soldiers against the unarmed Palestinian civilians in the occupied West Bank, including in occupied East Jerusalem.

The report was submitted to the Human Rights Council during its Monday session in Geneva, and states that “Israel has failed to conduct the needed legal measures against Israeli soldiers and settlers who practice violence against the Palestinians and their property”.

The report also revealed that an Israeli soldier, who was questioned by Israel for killing a Palestinian mother and her daughter, never…

The Extinction Protocol

September 25, 2012Guwahati, INDIA – Floods have forced nearly 1.5 million people to flee their homes in north-eastern India where authorities have declared a health alert, officials said on Monday. “Eighteen of 27 districts of Assam have been hit by floods with 1.5 million displaced and 11 people drowned in separate incidents in the past week,” the Disaster Management agency said in a statement. The floods, caused by relentless rains, marked the second round of massive flooding in two months to hit India’s impoverished northeast and come towards the end of India’s June-to-September monsoon season. Nearly 130 people died and six million were displaced by floods in Assam state in July. Rescue officials said in the latest floods, at least 2,200 villages had been swamped by overflowing waters from the rain-swollen Brahmaputra River. Himanta Biswa Sarmah, the health minister of Assam state, told AFP that a “maximum…

The Extinction Protocol

September 25, 2012SPACEAstronomy forums are buzzing with speculation about newly-discovered Comet C/2012 S1 (ISON). Currently located beyond the orbit of Jupiter, Comet ISON is heading for a very close encounter with the sun next year. In Nov. 2013, it will pass less than 0.012 AU (1.8 million km) from the solar surface. The fierce heating it experiences then could turn the comet into a bright naked-eye object. Much about this comet–and its ultimate fate–remains unknown. “At this stage we’re just throwing darts at the board,” says Karl Battams of the NASA-supported Sungrazer Comet Project, who lays out two possibilities: “In the best case, the comet is big, bright, and skirts the sun next November. It would be extremely bright — negative magnitudes maybe — and naked-eye visible for observers in the Northern Hemisphere for at least a couple of months. Alternately, comets can and often do…

A new report has found that the constant assassination drone strikes by the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) have “terrorized” civilian population of Pakistan’s tribal areas around the clock.

Conducted by Stanford and New York universities’ law schools, based on “extensive interviews with the local population” on the controversial attacks, the study entitled Living Under Drones revealed that “US drones hover 24 hours a day over communities in north-west Pakistan, striking homes, vehicles, and public spaces without warning.”

“Their [US drones] presence terrorizes men, women, and children, giving rise to anxiety and psychological trauma among civilian communities. Those living under drones have to face the constant worry that a deadly strike may be fired at any moment, and the knowledge that they are powerless to protect themselves,” the American law schools report said.

Washington has been using its assassination drones in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Yemen and Somalia and claims…
