http://rt.com/news/us-troops-turkey-patriot-345/ A group of 27 US troops has arrived in Turkey to operate NATO Patriot surface-to-air (SAM) missile batteries. At least six of those will be deployed along the country’s border with Syria. The troops arrived in the southeastern province of Gaziantep on Thursday and were taken to a local hotel by Turkish security forces, local media reported. Their first task will be to survey the sites where the Patriot missiles are to be deployed, after they are fully delivered. The US, Germany and the Netherlands agreed to supply the SAM systems after Turkey made the request to its NATO allies. Ankara said it needed the weapons to protect itself from a possible attack from Syria. The six Patriot batteries are to be deployed near the cities of Adana, Gaziantep and Kahramanmaras, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said in December. The batteries will be operated by troops of their respective countries: The US and Germany are sending about 400 troops each, while the Netherlands will have around 360 soldiers manning their Patriot SAMs. Read the full report via RT.com

People have held demonstrations against the Al Saud regime in the holy city of Mecca and the central city of Buraidah, Press TV reports.

The demonstrators took to the streets in the two cities on Tuesday, calling for the downfall of the Saudi regime. They also demanded the release of political prisoners.

On December 31, tens of thousands of Saudi nationals staged a protest in the oil-rich Eastern Province to condemn the recent killing of a teenage demonstrator.

The demonstration in Eastern Province was held following the funeral of Ahmad al-Matar, who was killed when regime forces opened fire on a group of protesters in the Qatif region of the province on December 27.

Since February 2011, protesters have held demonstrations on an almost regular basis in Saudi Arabia, mainly in Qatif and the town of Awamiyah in Eastern Province, primarily calling for the release of all political…

Syria has reportedly opened the New Year with a horrifying discovery of dozens of corpses in the capital Damascus. Some of the bodies were decapitated and bore traces of torture. They have not yet been identified. This comes amid widespread doubt there will be any major breakthrough in Syria’s bloody civil stand-off any time soon. Asia Times Correspondent Pepe Escobar predicts that the conflict could follow the Lebanese Civil War scenario and continue for another fifteen years.

Silver Lining

by Ramzy Baroud, source

Reading the text of a bill that was recently signed into law by US President Barack Obama would instill fear in the hearts of ordinary Americans. Apparently, barbarians coming from distant lands are at work. They are gathering at the US-Mexico border, cutting fences and ready to wreak havoc on an otherwise serene American landscape.

Never mind that crazed, armed to the teeth, homegrown American terrorists are killing children and terrorizing whole cities. It is the Iranian menace that we are meant to fear according to the new law. When compounded with the other imagined threats of Hezbollah and Hamas, all with sinister agendas, then the time is right for Americans to return to their homes, bolt their doors and squat in shelters awaiting further instructions, for evidently, “The Iranians are coming.”

It is as comical as it is untrue. But “The Countering Iran in the…

Unemployment in Spain already stands at 26%. Crowds scavenge the streets at night for food. And life is about to get tougher still

Forget, for a moment, the Greek tragedy. The tale of social woe set to play out in Spain this year is both bigger and more important to the world. For the drama of rescuing the euro, or letting it sink, will be played out on Spanish soil.

That is not to say Spaniards will have it worse than Greeks, though Eurostat figures show only Bulgaria and Romania now have a higher percentage of people deemed at risk of poverty. Spain’s economy will shrink, once more, by 1.5% – a dramatic enough figure, though one most…

The Israeli Navy opened fire, on Wednesday morning, at a number of Palestinian fishing boats at the coasts of Khan Younis and Rafah, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.

Local sources reported that the army fired dozens of rounds of live ammunition at the fishing boats, and forced the fishermen to return to their docks.

The sources added that the Navy chased the fishermen despite the fact that they were in the allotted area allowed for Palestinian fishermen.

As part of the ceasefire agreement that ended the Israeli war on Gaza in November 2012, Palestinian fishermen were allowed to fish within 6 nautical miles off the Gaza coast.

191 Palestinians, including children, women and elderly, have been killed by Israeli military fire in Gaza in November, including…

The Extinction Protocol

January 3, 2013PAKISTANMeasles cases in 2012 have surged by almost five times of that the previous year in Pakistan, leading to the deaths of hundreds of children, according to an international health body. Maryam Yunus, a spokeswoman for the World Health Organization (WHO) said on Tuesday that 306 children died in Pakistan because of the infectious disease in 2012, a dramatic surge from to the 64 children in 2011. The WHO said the jump was most pronounced in southern Sindh province, where measles killed 210 children in 2012. Twenty-eight children died there the year before. The organisation did not give a reason for the increase in deaths, but a provincial health official in Sindh said that the disease hit areas where poor families did not vaccinate their children. A provincial health minister said 100 children died in Sindh province in December alone, mostly in areas where…

The comments come as the Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has claimed that Syria is preparing for, what he called, a sacred birth that will replace Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. Meanwhile Syrian Army troops have reportedly arrested four Turkish fighter jet pilots near a military airport in Syria’s northwestern province of Aleppo. Tensions have been running high between Syria and Turkey, with Damascus accusing Ankara — along with Saudi Arabia, Qatar, France, and the United States — of backing deadly militancy that has claimed the lives of many Syrians, including security and Army personnel.

The Truther Girls

It has been reported now that Adam Lanza had a webpage all about devil worship. .Not only this, but the town of Newton, CT has been known to have Satanic activity. I would think that for something so evil to happen, th edevil would have to be involved in one way or another.

Another thing people are saying is that the parents and other witnesses seem insincere in their grief and must therefore be hired actors, so I have addressed this point as well as alternative explanations for their behavior. Please let me know what you think.

For the record, I do not think the whole thing was fake or that all these victims’ families were involved in a plot. Although I do suspect that there was more than a ‘lone wolf’ involved, I think a real tragedy unfolded involving a lot of innocent…

GAZA, (PIC)– Independent MP Dr. Jamal Al-Khudari has opined that 2013 would witness a final end to the Israeli blockade on the Gaza Strip that has been in force for six years.

In a press release on Wednesday, Khudari called for intensifying efforts by free people of the world, those who back the Palestine cause, and layers and segments of the Palestinian people in order to break the siege once and for all.

The MP hoped that the new year would bring about freedom, end of occupation, and restoration of all usurped rights for the Palestinian people in the West Bank, Gaza Strip, Jerusalem, 1948 land, and the diaspora.

Khudari also called for ending the internal division, hoping that recent good omens in this regard should be exploited to embark on practical steps toward a reunion.
