TCP : British Baroness and cabinet member Sayeeda Warsi resigned from her position Tuesday morning, protesting the British government’s Gaza policy regarding the conflict between Israel and Gaza.

“With deep regret, I have this morning written to the Prime Minister (and) tendered my registration. I can no longer support Govt, policy on #Gaza”, wrote Warsi on her official Twitter account.

Warsi_UK“Can people stop trying to justify the killing of children? Whatever our policies there can never be justification”, surly only regret #Gaza” Warsi added, on her Twitter account, criticizing Israel’s actions in Gaza.

British Labour leader Ed Miliband on his official Twitter feed seconded Warsi, posting ” I think Baroness Warsi has acted with principle and integrity. People around Britain have been shocked by the suffering we have seen i Gaza”.

The siege of Leningrad is still considered the most lethal siege in world history, a shocking “racially motivated starvation policy”, described as: “an integral part of Nazi policy in the Soviet Union during World War 11.”

The 872 day siege began on 8th September 1941 and was finally broken on 27th January 1944. It is described  as: “one of the longest and most destructive sieges in history and overwhelmingly the most costly in casualties.”

A balanced analysis of the security interests of the United States vis-a-vis Israel requires a careful review of their security interests and the history of their interaction.

That review demonstrates that Israel will always put its interest before any other nation, including the United States, if its leadership believes Israel’s existence is at risk.

One should not expect anything different, given the experience of the Jewish people in Europe during World War II; however, that experience does not give Israel the right to dictate the foreign policy of United States, whose interest may diverge from Israel when all risks are evaluated.
