Occupied Palestine | فلسطين

[ PIC 19/11/2012 – 09:47 PM ]

RAMALLAH, (PIC)– Secretary-general of the Palestinian popular committees against the wall and settlements, Azmi al-Shyoukhi, stated that the daily confrontations between Israeli soldiers and Palestinian youths in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem are the beginnings of a real outbreak of a third intifada.

Al-Shyoukhi told Quds Press on Monday that “the daily confrontations taking place in the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem constitute the beginnings of a real third intifada in response to the war crimes committed by Israel in the Gaza Strip”.

Al-Shyoukhi considered that the Palestinian movement in the West Bank “will turn to a massive popular uprising in light of the continued Israeli aggression on Gaza,” calling for escalating the popular resistance in all occupied territories in support of the besieged Gaza Strip that witnesses a continuous Israeli military aggression which started six days ago.

Al-Shyoukhi called on Palestinian…

A new wave of hatred towards Palestine is sweeping through Israel from public figures to the man on the street. This hostility is in sharp contrast to efforts in Cairo, where Arab leaders and Western diplomats are trying to hammer out a peace plan.

While Palestinian Liberation Organisation (PLO) official Nabil Sheath expressed hope Sunday night that negotiations would continue, very different noises were coming out of Israel.

Interior Minister Eli Yishai said Operation Pillar of Defense would continue and likely be expanded, a reference to the possibility that a ground offensive has already been given the go-ahead.

The war in Gaza “must be so painful and difficult that the terror groups will not think twice but a hundred times before they fire missiles against Israel again,” it was reported in The Israel National News.

“Destroy and damage infrastructure, public buildings and government buildings. We must make sure that Hamas…

PRESSTV | NOV 20, 2012

The UK government has launched systematic attempts in recent days simultaneous with the Israeli regime’s indiscriminate killing of Palestinian civilians in the Gaza Strip in a bid to put the blame on resistance forces inside the besieged enclave.

Foreign Secretary William Hague said in a recent comment that Hamas, the Palestinian resistance movement, was to blame for and totally responsible for Israel’s bombardment of the Gaza Strip. He claimed that massive airstrikes were in response to rockets fired into the Israeli occupied territories.

Foreign Office Minister Alistair Burt visited the southern town of Kiryat Malachi where three Israelis were killed after a rocket fired from the Gaza Strip hit a building.

Commenting on his visit to Kiryat Malachi, Burt tried to distort facts by saying that he is gravely concerned about the “terrible toll and suffering the conflict is inflicting on families and communities…

“Israel” Retreats, Prefers Lull

Moqawama

The smoke of defeat and retreat emerged Tuesday from “Israel’s” security meeting.

According to “Israeli” media, the forum of top nine ministers has decided that the Zionist entity will attempt to reach a lull.

“A decision was taken that for the time being there is a temporary hold on the ground incursion to give diplomacy a chance to succeed,” an “Israeli” official announced following a late-night session of “Israeli” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s inner circle.

Silver Lining

by Stephen McCloskey, source

The Gaza Strip is inching toward a humanitarian crisis as Israel’s five year blockade of the territory has been exacerbated by a dispute over fuel supplies. Gaza’s young people are on the front line of this crisis as failing utilities like water and electricity and an inadequate diet have seen rampant rates of anaemia and diarrhoea. Hady Mattar is a five year old boy playing among hundreds of young people in Gaza’s YMCA. He is easily distinguished from his peers by his bandaged hands covering severe burns sustained at home from a domestic electricity generator. Hady, like most of Gaza’s children, is paying…
