The Israeli army is reportedly preparing to launch another all-out war against the besieged Gaza Strip in a bid to eliminate Hamas resistance movement.

According to Israeli Walla website, the Israeli army is preparing to launch the Operation Pillar of Defense II against Gaza to stop rocket attacks from the Palestinian territory despite a significant decrease in their number.

The Israeli website said since the Israeli regime does not have confidence in the current peace in the southern part of Israel, it wants to launch another military offensive in Gaza to destroy Hamas military infrastructure.

It also added that the Israeli army will deploy more troops in the future war to prevent Hamas response.

Walla said Israel is determined to attack Gaza again since…

http://beforeitsnews.com/alternative/2012/12/palestinians-may-take-israel-to-icc-over-child-detentions-2523674.html

Palestinian authorities are considering taking legal action against Israel over hundreds of Palestinian children being detained, with some reportedly maltreated.

Editor’s note: indeed, access to the ICC was a significant motivator for the Palestinians as I mentioned in August of 2012. It is also hardly surprising that so many in the U.S. Congress are pushing for closure of the PLO office in Washington, along with further de-funding of UN affiliated entities.

As a result of the United Nations General Assembly voting to upgrade the Palestinians’ diplomatic status to a “non-member observer state,” they now have chance to access UN agencies and the International Criminal Court (ICC).

“We need to use the newly gained state status to take measures against Israel for its crimes, especially the arrest, detention, and abuse of Palestinian children, let alone trying them before military courts,” Eissa Karakea, Palestinian Minister of Detainees’ Affairs told Al Arabiya news channel.

According to a report issued by the Palestinian Ministry of Detainees Affairs, 900 Palestinian children were arrested by Israeli authorities in 2012 – a significant surge from the 700 arrested in 2011. The report suggests that the children are often mistreated during interrogations and beaten in detention.

“Israel is violating the Child Protection Act and all international laws by subjecting children to such traumatic experiences. The Israeli minister of security had actually said earlier that Palestinian children have no immunity,” Karakea said.

Karakea stressed that the international community is aware of the crimes committed against Palestinian children and that several human rights groups are launching campaigns in solidarity with Palestinian children. “But this is not enough. We need to take further steps,” he told Al Arabiya.

Some 177 minors remain in prison as of December 1, according to a monthly report by the Prisoner Support and Human Rights Association.

BEIRUT, (PIC)– Member of Hamas’s political bureau Ezzat Al-Resheq held the Israeli occupation regime fully responsible for the targeting and killing of unarmed civilians in the Gaza Strip.

“The Palestinian people and the resistance factions will not stand idle with their arms folded, but they will defend themselves by all means possible, and its men are able to deter the Zionist aggression,” Resheq stated in a press statement on Sunday.

Resheq called on the Arab League, the organization of Islamic cooperation and the international community to pressure the Israeli regime to stop its military escalation and crimes, and protect the unarmed civilians in Gaza.
The Palestinian resistance in Gaza had to fire a number of projectiles and homemade rockets at nearby Israeli…

Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says the “uncultured” Zionists have reached the end of the line and are thus grasping at straws to trigger a sectarian war among the followers of different religions.

“I am confident that Zionists are goners and the world will be freed from their existence and justice will be established,” Ahmadinejad said on Friday.

Although Zionists will fail to achieve their goals, all nations should remain vigilant against their plots, he added.

The Iranian president said US decision-makers directing the country’s politics from behind the scene have come to this understanding that the Israeli regime will no longer be beneficial to them.

GAZA, (PIC)– A new UN reported warned that the crisis of the polluted and unclean water in the Gaza Strip is getting worse and seriously affecting the civilians’ health.

Gaza’s rapidly growing population of about 1. 64 million, which is expected to increase by 500, 000 by 2020, could soon lose its main source of fresh water from the underground coastal aquifer, which could become unusable by 2016 and sustain irreversible damage by 2020, the report said.

Clean water is limited for most Gazans to an average of 70 to 90 liters per person per day, compared to the minimum global world health organization (WHO) standard of 100 liters a day, according to Mahmoud Daher, officer in charge of the WHO in Gaza.

“We have respiratory diseases, skin diseases, eye diseases, gastroenteritis, which can all be linked to polluted water,” said Mohamed Al-Kashef…

Silver Lining

by DAVE LINDORFF, source

Former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright should be a happy camper: Another campaign of sanctions and embargoes by the US is about to start killing children, this time in Iran.

Albright, as President Bill Clinton’s Secretary of State, when interviewed on CBS’s news magazine program “60 Minutes” back in 2000, was asked by reporter Lesley Stahl about reports that US sanctions on Iraq had led to the deaths of some 500,000 Iraqi children because of shortages of medicine and things like chlorine for treating water supplies. Stahl asked Albright if such a dreadful toll was “worth it.”  Albright famously responded, “I think this is a very hard choice, but the price–we think the price is worth it.”

Albright must be happy then that apparently the same kind of heartless logic is at work once more, this time orchestrated by the Obama administration and the current…

They said that the woman suffered head injuries and was taken to Al-Khalil government hospital where her condition was described as moderate.

In a separate incident, large numbers of Israeli occupation forces stormed Beit Ummar village to the north of Al-Khalil on Wednesday night. IOF soldiers broke into and searched many homes but no arrests were reported.

A Zionist Plan for the Middle East.pdf  – As obtained by the Information Clearing House

The plans for reconfiguring the Middle East started several years before the First World War. It was during the First World War, however, that the manifestation of these colonial designs could visibly be seen with the “Great Arab Revolt” against the Ottoman Empire. After the collapse of the Ottoman Empire, it was London and Paris which denied freedom to the Arabs, while sowing the seeds of discord amongst the Arab peoples. Local corrupt Arab leaders were also partners in the project and many of them were all too happy to become clients of Britain and France. In the same sense, the “Arab Spring” is being manipulated today. The U.S., Britain, France, and others are now working with the help of corrupt Arab leaders and figures to restructure the Arab World and Africa.

The Yinon Plan, which is a continuation of British stratagem in the Middle East, is an Israeli strategic plan to ensure Israeli regional superiority. It insists and stipulates that Israel must reconfigure its geo-political environment through the balkanization of the surrounding Arab states into smaller and weaker states. Israeli strategists viewed Iraq as their biggest strategic challenge from an Arab state. This is why Iraq was outlined as the centerpiece to the balkanization of the Middle East and the Arab World. In Iraq, on the basis of the concepts of the Yinon Plan, Israeli strategists have called for the division of Iraq into a Kurdish state and two Arab states, one for Shiite Muslims and the other for Sunni Muslims. The first step towards establishing this was a war between Iraq and Iran, which the Yinon Plan discusses.

The Atlantic, in 2008, and the U.S. military’s Armed Forces Journal, in 2006, both published widely circulated maps that closely followed the outline of the Yinon Plan. Aside from a divided Iraq, which the Biden Plan also calls for, the Yinon Plan calls for a divided Lebanon, Egypt, and Syria. The partitioning of Iran, Turkey, Somalia, and Pakistan also all fall into line with these views. The Yinon Plan also calls for dissolution in North Africa and forecasts it as starting from Egypt and then spilling over into Sudan, Libya, and the rest of the region. Although tweaked, the Yinon Plan is in motion and coming to life under the “Clean Break.” This is through a policy document written in 1996 by Richard Perle and the Study Group on “A New Israeli Strategy Toward 2000” for Benjamin Netanyahu, the prime minister of Israel at the time. Perle was a former Pentagon under-secretary for Ronald Reagan at the time and later a U.S. military advisor to George W. Bush Jr. and the White House. As a first step towards creating an Israeli-dominated “New Middle East” and encircling Syria, the 1996 document calls for removing President Saddam Hussein from power. Perle and the Study Group on “A New Israeli Strategy Toward 2000” also call for driving the Syrians out of Lebanon and destabilizing Syria by using Lebanese opposition figures. The document states: “[Israel must divert] Syria’s attention by using Lebanese opposition elements to destabilize Syrian control of Lebanon.” This is what would happen in 2005 after the Hariri Assassination that helped launch the so-called “Cedar Revolution”, and create the vehemently anti-Syrian March 14 Alliance controlled by the corrupt Said Hariri.

The document also mentions something that resembles what is currently going on in Syria. It states: “Most important, it is understandable that Israel has an interest supporting diplomatically, militarily and operationally Turkey’s and Jordan’s actions against Syria, such as securing tribal alliances with Arab tribes that cross into Syrian territory and are hostile to the Syrian ruling elite.” With the 2011 upheaval in Syria, the movement of insurgents and the smuggling of weapons through the Jordanian and Turkish borders has become a major problem for Damascus.
In this context, it is no surprise that Ariel Sharon and Israel told Washington to attack Syria, Libya, and Iran after the Anglo-American invasion of Iraq. Finally, it is worth knowing that the Israeli document also advocated for pre-emptive war to shape Israel’s geo-strategic environment and to carve out the “New Middle East.” This is a policy that the U.S. would also adopt in 2001.
